As a 20 year old Institute of Integrative Nutrition graduate, I started The Balanced Apron in order to bring to life a vision of beautiful, delicious, and wholesome food in the form of packaged salads, catering, and recipe development. My years as a pre-professional ballet student opened my eyes to the importance of a balanced diet, whereas my family’s love of quality ingredients and home cooking instilled the significance of interesting and flavorful meals.
I believe food should be enjoyed and delicious, but can also be a complete and balanced meal full of nourishing foods like vegetables, fruits, grains, healthy fats and lean proteins. I believe that eating healthfully and convenience don’t have to be mutually exclusive, and aim to make my nutritious meals a part of your jam-packed everyday life. I personally believe that moderation is the key to a happy and healthy lifestyle, therefore you’ll see a little bit of everything in my recipes.
How does one make food taste good without an abundance of fat, sugar, and simple carbohydrates you might ask? I utilize herbs, spices, and thoughtfully prepare my ingredients in order to make the most of each dish, and excite your palate. I aim to create joy and beauty in everything that I do, and therefore hope to communicate this through my cooking. Enjoy!
